We will rent the land where the festival will take place. The land is registered as such as country side with a lovely river where we can get refreshed and plenty of trees for shade.

For this event it is necessary to be over 18 to work, and this includes working for the kitchen, bar, ticket sale, engineers ……We are going to rely on a lot of help from our volunteers but we have to cover a minimum.

TROPICAL CAMP will be the first festival run entirely on Solar Power in Spain.
This Festival will be held on July 10, 11 and 12 in the Sierra de Gredos. A wonderful mountain range and national park, one hour away from Madrid.
The participants will enjoy a diverse range of activities (concerts, Dj sessions, workshops and more) in a wonderful natural environment surrounded by mountains with forests and rivers for swimming.
This will be a three day Festival in nature consisting of music and camping that is run entirely on Solar Power.
But…if it’s run on Solar Power…what happens at night?
With this festival, we want to promote awareness of energy consumption and Nature´s solar cycle. For this, there will be no amplified music at night.
After nightfall, there may be some improvised acoustic sessions by the river, but not until too late. We want to respect our rest so when the Sun comes back and gives us solar power again, THE MUSIC COMES BACK!
The usual dynamic of most Festivals is not very in synch with natural rhythms. The music usually never stops at night, pushing people to become tired and unbalanced.
At the Tropical Camp, as it is a Solar Powered festival, we hope to respect the solar cycle and use the sunlit energy to enjoy the music and environment the whole day through.
This is a very important detail: resting at night with no noise! A real luxury, making our Fest suitable for children, folks and tribes of all ages.
Do you like Tropical Music? Do you enjoy being in Nature? Do you love to party? Do you like to rest at night? Y0U ARE GOING T0 L0VE THIS FEST!
We want to give importance to our festival surroundings and camping area that are in a green grove, next to a river, that is surrounded by trees where you can enjoy the music at day and a Cocktail Bar all run on Solar Power.
TROPICAL MUSIC is our musical theme. For those who don’t know about it, this music comes mostly from the Caribbean, a melting pot of influences now infused with avant-garde electronic beats. We’ll have some of the most representative artists of this scene in Europe!
We have an amazing artistic line-up and a staff of great people to make this happen, but we have to face lots of production expenses to cover just to make this possible. Without this primary support we cant pull this off and this is why we started this crowdfunding campaign.
With this campaign, we can cover our basic operating budget to put this festival on. We are asking for people to collaborate by purchasing their tickets in advance and also getting other rewards available in this campaign.

This event is organized by WAPAPURA(www.wapapura.com), a cultural association that has been organizing solar powered events and recordings in natural surroundings since 2006. Offering musicians the chance to connect their music with nature and share it with the world to support a change in our relationship with our planet through the power of music.
As a record label, we have produced 6 albums all in natural surroundings and with Solar Power, including one in the Colombian Amazon rainforest. All of these recordings and a documentary of our recording in the jungle is available on our webpage.
As an event producer, we have organized many solar powered events, including the first ever fully solar powered concert in Colombia, the Sonera Solar in the Bogota Botanical Gardens in 2013. Here in Spain we are most well known for a musical solar picnic in its 9th edition named “LA PERDIZ TR0PICAL”, held in Granada, Spain.
Presently Wapapura is creating live stream Internet television programs by webcasting our musical performances from remote locations with our solar powered streaming studio. Having produced 16 chapters including the last three that took place in Cappadocia, Turkey.
This festival counts with the support of different arts collectives, as well as many international artists like: Guacamayo Tropical, Tierra Candela, Caballito, Manglar, Sonidero Mandril, La Selva and many more.
