Hello to all our valued backers!
We are back in the water! Yesterday Will was diving at the Medes Islands and at a coastal, Costa Brava dive site. The diferences between the protected island areas and the non protected coastal areas is vast. However there is still life away from the islands. One of the costal dive site highlights was a small cuttle fish that Will began to film as it sat on a rock. The creature would have been looking for a mate or perhaps a fight. The little creature was fascinated by its own reflection in the camera lens dome port, probably thinking it had met a rival or perhaps a partner? The little cuttle fish came so close to the camer that eventully the camera would not focus on it. From this encounter we have recorded some fabulous footage to use within the film.
At this time of year the water column has a green hue to it. Ths is due to the plankton blooms that occur around spring time. This is normal activity and all part of the cycle of life. As the water warms, the visibility increases and more life begins to form.
We are currently diving in dry suits as the water temperature is at 20 degrees centigrade. When it reaches around 23/24 degrees, then we will switch to our wetsuits.

Ja hem tornat a l'aigua! Ahir, en Will estava bussejant a les Illes Medes i en un punt de busseig costaner de la Costa Brava. Les diferències entre les zones insulars protegides i les zones costaneres no protegides són enormes. No obstant això, encara hi ha vida lluny de les illes. Un dels punts destacats del punt de busseig costaner va ser una petita sípia que en Will va començar a filmar mentre estava asseguda en una roca. La criatura devia estar buscant parella o potser una baralla. La petita criatura estava fascinada pel seu propi reflex a la cúpula de l'objectiu de la càmera, probablement pensant que s'havia trobat amb un rival o potser una parella? La petita sípia es va acostar tant a la càmera que finalment la càmera no la va enfocar. D'aquesta trobada hem gravat unes imatges fabuloses per utilitzar a la pel·lícula.
En aquesta època de l'any, la columna d'aigua té un to verd. Això es deu a les floracions de plàncton que es produeixen al voltant de la primavera. Aquesta és una activitat normal i forma part del cicle de la vida. A mesura que l'aigua s'escalfa, la visibilitat augmenta i comença a formar-se més vida.
Actualment estem bussejant amb vestits secs, ja que la temperatura de l'aigua és de 20 graus centígrads. Quan arribi als 23/24 graus, ens posarem els vestits de neoprè.
