Patience is bitter...

Hi there,
After another month of hard working, we take a breaktime to let you know about the project.
First of all, we apologize again for all the delays on the Slim device deliveries. We are very aware of that all the process has been prolonged a lot more than it should be, and the only thing we could do is apologizing as many times as necessary.
The device is 100% operational, but there are still emerging setbacks when we put it into mass production. This time, the main problem was to get supplies and suppliers who fit into the destined budget. Being a low volume production, this is complicated (including when we considered the fabrication in China) and it requires a lot of time.
If you follow our threads, you may be aware that (it has been a month ago) we would send the purchase order for material we were going to use for the cases. The manufacturer who we agreed the price with, duplicated the initial budget from one day to the next and we had to stop to look for another, as well as contacting directly to the material suppliers to avoid middlemans who add their margin. It was not easy! :( In any case, the first units come into production next week. Your devices will be ready to packed by the end of month.
Anyway, we have been able to work more consistently on the protocols and communication section while we tried to solve this material problems. The USB MIDI communication works like a charm and, recently, we have implemented an access protocol which is giving us very good results. A less satisfactory part of this is having discovered that the OSC for WiFi is not very reliable, and we had to simplify a UDP protocol, very easy to implement in any software. On the slide we included some pictures where you can see a WiFi communication example between the software and the controller. Besides, you can see the running presentation in real time on the video attached below:
Another good news, the first gathering of Bhoreal community will be held on 20th November here in Barcelona. This meeting is framed in the open Thursdays held in Hangar. There will be a small workshop and we hope to have a group to work on improvements, applications and demos of the device. We'll count all of you who are in the area for this event. You'll receive more news by email in the coming days.
Lastly, be informed that we are making a call to the developers and collaborators who are interested in helping us to develop applications, tutorials and contents for the platform. We have several lines of action open and need users who can or want to bear a hand. We'll send an email later that explains everything more in detail.
