Allgemeine Informationen

They have just crossed the border. Less than a month ago their life was totally different, but the war in their country, Ukraine, has forced millions of people to leave their homes behind.

They arrive with light luggage, frightened and enduring the cold temperatures of this time of year. Many of them have gone for days without food or are feeding on what little they can find along the way. And that's why the work of World Central Kitchen is so important.
We are raising funds so that the organisation can continue to provide hot meals and menus to Ukrainian children, women and men who are leaving the country because of the war. Can you help us to do this?

WCK began serving hot meals within hours of the initial invasion of Ukraine, and quickly set up at all eight border crossings with Poland. WCK's Chefs for Ukraine response has grown rapidly and is distributing nutritious food and freshly made meals throughout the region, including Ukraine, Poland, Hungary, Moldova and Romania.

Donate now and help feed these people!

All of Spain, right now, is watching the war going on in Ukraine with fear and insecurity, but also with a willing response to the emergency looking for ways to help as the conflict continues to grow. The population is mobilising and we need to keep it that way. They need you to help.

Some three million people, three million children, women and entire families fleeing with nothing but the bare necessities, in the cold, with no money and no family references in the border countries they cross. Moreover, this massive outflow is far from abating: it has been predicted that up to 4 million people could leave the country.
When you flee a war, what you need most and look for first is food, water and shelter. A warm meal that can help you through the most difficult days of your life.

Please donate and donate!

Hauptmerkmale

Through this campaign, you can help Ukrainian refugees to get first aid after arriving at the borders.
With your contribution to this campaign you will support the help offered by World Central Kitchen to alleviate the situation of those affected by the war in Ukraine, as well as people who have been forced to seek refuge in neighbouring countries, such as Poland or Romania.

What is WCK?

World Central Kitchen is a non-profit organisation dedicated to providing meals around the world after natural disasters or humanitarian emergencies, founded in 2010 by chef José Andrés. It has supported a large number of countries, and its work has been recognised with numerous awards, including the 2021 Princess of Asturias Award for Concord.

WCK began serving hot meals within hours of the initial invasion of Ukraine, and quickly set up at all eight border crossings with Poland. WCK's Chefs for Ukraine response has grown rapidly and is distributing nutritious food and freshly cooked meals throughout the region, including Ukraine, Poland, Hungary, Moldova and Romania. In addition to WCK's emergency kitchen, they are working with local restaurants, caterers and food trucks to provide comfort food at border crossings, shelters and other locations along the journey.

What do they need funding for?

We need €5,000 for the NGO World Central Kitchen to deliver food to 1,250 children and women refugees from the war in Ukraine.

Why €5,000?

With 4 euros you can offer a solidarity menu and a drink to one person. If we raise 5,000 euros, 1,250 people will be able to eat hot meals. Why a financial contribution and not a donation in kind? Because the organisation will cut shipping costs and will be able to buy the food from local producers.
Moreover, WE ARE NOT ALONE, in this project we have the collaboration of different public (like the Foundation of the Complutense University of Madrid) and private entities that like you will contribute their grain of sand to give food to the hundreds of thousands of people who are fleeing from war.

Warum das wichtig ist

(Photos by EFE González)

This crowdfunding campaign is aimed at all people who are sensitive to those who need it most.
To people who feel fortunate with what they have and believe that it is not fair that others are having a bad time because they were born in a certain place.
People who believe that war is unjust and that civilians should not have to pay for the decisions of their leaders. People who can't stand injustice.
To people like you.

Cooking is a form of support. It's saying: you're not going to let my people go hungry.
José Andrés, founder of WCK.
